Look how far we haven't come

A new UN ad campaign sheds some light on what the internet really thinks of women. It's so incredible to me that in truth we have not come far at all with respect to equality for women (p.s. Leaning In is not the answer - but that's another subject for another time) Click here for more images. 

Food for thought

Growing up in NYC and the surrounding suburbs, I always had this notion that where I lived was different. I didn't understand inequality or status or class (although when I switched from public to private school and girls in my class were getting horses for their birthdays - as in to own, to ride - I couldn't figure out why I couldn't have one too). But I was lucky enough to travel and that made me start to pay attention and allowed me to explore things outside my world. NYC is full of dichotomy and contradiction, but I think many walk around every day with their eyes closed to it because if you see it don't you then have a responsibility to do something about it?
